United Kingdom is a robust hub of cutting-edge Service Management technologies, so it’s only natural that a great number of ITSM, ITIL and Agile events are being held in London or other large british cities. Yet how to choose which conference you should 100% visit and which one is not that cool as advertised? Worry no more – we’ve created an ultimate guide with our personal rating that will help you navigate in the sea of events.

We evaluated each prominent ITSM, ITIL and Agile event according to the following three criteria:

  • number of non-sponsored speakers
  • agenda relevance
  • emotional feedback afterwards (if the event is recurring)

And here’s what we got (please remember that our opinions are subjective).

What: Agile Cambridge

When: 26-28 September 2018

Where: Cambridge

Description: An exciting and compact 3-days agenda of the conference is packed with case studies, workshops and tutorials and will leave you no chance to get bored or overfilled with theoretical knowledge. Both keynote speakers and workshop facilitators are employees from various industries, sharing their first-hand experience and allowing you to learn from their mistakes.

Number of non-sponsored speakers: ⭐⭐⭐

Agenda relevance: ⭐⭐⭐ – especially compared to the last year the topics became more practice-oriented

Emotional feedback afterwards: ⭐⭐

What: Agile Business Conference: Creating Generation Agile

When: 26-27 September 2018

Where: London

Description: Almost simultaneously with the previous one will be held another prominent Agile dedicated event – Agile Business Conference. This one stands out as the oldest Agile conference and the most top-rank visited among them all, with the audience consisting mainly of C-suite executives, directors and managers. The topic for 2018 event is Creating Generation Agile, which implies the speeches will be more holistic, visionary and strategy oriented and not necessarily for practical use.

Number of non-sponsored speakers: ⭐⭐

Agenda relevance: ⭐⭐

What: Global Scrum Gathering

When: 8-10 October 2018

Where: London

Description: A large global event for Scrum specialists of all levels and industries, this Gathering have been held annually for nearly a decade and has a reputation of a must-attend among Scrum pros. This year’s conference already impresses with a list of authoritative speakers (Damian Huges, Debra Searle, Neil Mullarkey) and a comprehensive agenda. Last year’s Gathering new formats like Open Space and Train the Trainer made the event stand out compared to the same-type events, but a significant number of people don’t like such event formats, so we’re rather curious to see what the organizers have in store for us this year.

What: Workshop – Shift Left by itSMF UK

When: 11th October 2018

Where: London

Description: “Shift Left” is a promising concept, yet most ITSM practitioners are still cautious about it. At the same time shifting left, or resolving incidents by front line support without escalating them to the 2nd and 3rd line of support, is a great way to simplify support activity. The facilitator of this event is Barclae Rae, one of the leading ITSM experts and practitioners in UK, which is the guarantee that the audience will gain only applicable ITSM and business-wise knowledge.

What: SDI19 Conference

Where: Birmingham

Description: SDI 19 is the 31st conference for IT service professionals, and it’s needless to say how well-reputed and influential this gathering for the ITSM and Service Desk industry is. At this moment there is no clear agenda for the event yet: only a long list of topics and an open opportunity to become a speaker.
